    Creating Custom Colors

Color Matching for Metal Panel Systems

Not finding just the right color for your project? Not to worry, Bridger Steel offers color matching to help you find the perfect hue for your office space, home or commercial building’s exterior. While minimum quantities and longer lead times apply to creating these one-off color choices, we are happy to help find the perfect color or finish to match your project needs.

    Let's get Started

The first step is to check out our standard colors and get samples to test how they work in your environment.  If you still aren’t in love, you will need to provide a color sample for us to match.  It’s best to provide us with a sample of a roof in full sun, rather than under an eave or in shade.

You can also supply us with a Pantone or Hex color code that we can then use to create custom colors.  We would then send this off to our supplier for samples that you and your team will need to verify. We will not place your order without full approval.

We do want to note, from start to finish, custom colors can take 8-12 weeks and minimums do apply.  Color Matching can be done for both our steel and aluminum products.

Looking for custom colors for a small project, or an immediate need?

Bonderized may be a great option for immediate needs or smaller square footage amounts.  Bonderized was originally created as a paint-ready finish and can be used in combination with most standard exterior paint finishes.  Due to its availability, it also is a readily available alternative to creating a lab-designed custom color for your project.

    PVDF Finish Details

PVDF systems provide exceptional weather protection, and are designed to handle exposure to harsh weather conditions.  This commercial-grade paint system maintains its appearance over long periods when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) and atmospheric pollutants.

    SMP Finish Details

SMP (Silicon Modified Polyester) paint systems are among the hardest paint systems on the market, making it extremely resistant to abrasions and able to be used in a wide range of metal forming without cracking.

Often more economically priced than a PVDF paint system, it is a popular option for residential, industrial and agricultural uses.

    Substrate Options

Bridger Steel offers a range of Galvanized and Zincalume® substrates in our stocked inventory.  Most of our standard finishes can be custom ordered (minimums apply) based on site-specific requirements in Galvanized, Zincalume ®, and Aluminum options.  Please allow for longer lead times on custom orders.

    A606 Truten® Details

Bridger Steel uses a proprietary variation of traditional weathering steel called A606 Truten®.  Designed specifically for light gauge engineered panel systems, A606 Truten® is a naturally weathering product and can be used in roofing and facade applications.

Weathering steel, often referred to by the trademark Corten steel, is a group of steel alloys originally created to eliminate the need for painting structures like bridges or heavy steel structures exposed to the outside environment. As technology improved, use in residential and commercial projects drove interest in the light gauge market.

The original Corten received the standard designation A606 for thin sheet. All alloys are in common production and use.

The surface oxidation of weathering steel varies greatly based on environmental influences, but surface treatments can accelerate the oxidation to as little as two hours.

    Bonderized Finish Details

Bridger Steel's Bonderized is a galvanized steel that is processed through a phosphate bath, which then has a layer of Chromate applied and dried to the coating.  The process produces a matte grey finish.  This finish provides an excellent surface for applying primer, making Bonderized an excellent option for applying custom or branded paint colors post-installation.  Paint should be applied immediately after installation to prevent the phosphate coating from developing white rust.
