At Bridger Steel, we needed a product that would act like A606 Corten, but provide us with a more even and rapid patina. After testing a number of recipes, we created a slight variation to the traditional A606 Corten with our own Truten™️A606 Weathering Steel Finish.
Our product that creates a Metal Roof Rust look begins with a top layer coating made of copper, phosphorus, and silicon. This forms a textured oxide surface film on the panel. While time passes and the panels are exposed to different weather conditions, it will begin to rust into a unique, one-of-a-kind color.
One of the biggest appeals of this metal roofing rusted look is the fact that it is extremely resistant to corrosion caused by weather and other conditions. After that top coat is gone, the steel will ionize. This means the rusting will come to a halt and you will never have to worry about the panels rusting the whole way through. Instead, your rusted metal sheets will hold their look for decades to come.
