Minneapolis
(2605 Hennepin Ave S) FAQs:
Seating
The
Brave New Workshop is now a RESERVED SEATING facility. When you book your
tickets online or through our box office, you can choose "quick pick"
for the best available seats. Guests
are often curious why we switched--we have found reserved seating is the best
way to make the maximum number of patrons comfortable.
Latecomers
Patrons arriving after the show starts will be seated at an appropriate
break in the performance, at the discretion of the management. Latecoming
parties may find that they will have to split up on full-show nights. Please
do not be late!
Food/Drink
In Minneapolis,
we serve Beer, Wine, Soda, Coffee, and Espresso drinks at our concession stand
and you CAN bring them into the theater with you! We do not allow outside food
or drink, however.
Parking
Minneapolis:
There is only residential street parking in this area --good news is it's
FREE but bad news is you'll need to allow a few extra minutes to find a spot
and walk to the theater. We recommend the west side of Hennepin Ave in particular-
that is a very nice neighborhood.

Kids
Minneapolis
shows are rated PG-13 (at the LEAST!) for language and sexual inuendos--depending
on the night, these shows can be rated R. Please keep in mind that a lot of
our humor (in Minneapolis) is satire, meaning many younger kids probably won't
"get it". If you are looking for a PG show that is fun, funny, and
designed purely to entertain, please check out Minnesota!
It's Not Just For Lutherans Anymore.... at our St. Paul Stage.
For
the comfort and safety of everyone, we do not allow children under the age
of 5 to attend performances.
Where
to Eat
Minneapolis:
Uptown is filled with great places to chow down! Our favorites are The Green
Mill (right accross the street) which has great pizza, pasta, and burgers
PLUS they now offer 25% off your whole bill if you show phone
# is (612) 374-2131 La
Toscana's phone # is (612) 926-6668
What
is the Minneapolis stage all about?
What you'll see at the Brave New Workshop Minneapolis Stage is somewhat like
a "real-live version of Saturday Night Live" -- only we're much funnier than
SNL, and we've been doing it longer (45 years!). We start with a "general
theme," like apathy, or the Millenium, or something that is on everyone's
mind, we write original comedy sketches and songs that "satirize" or "make
a statement about," or "take a look at" the topic in a new and funny and entertaining
way. It's called "sketch comedy" or "a comedy revue" or "satirical comedy"
and the Brave New Workshop has been doing it since 1958, longer than anyone
on the globe. Our goal is always to be FUNNY, ENTERTAINING, PROVACATIVE, and,
above all, BRAVE! We DO NOT recommend our Minneapolis stage shows for those
with weak "humor bones" or those who are easily shocked or offended. We DO
recommend our Minneapolis stage shows for anyone looking for something different
and surprising and anyone who considers
themselves to be "comically BRAVE."
If you are looking
for a PG show that is fun, funny, and designed purely to entertain, please
check out Minnesota! It's Not Just For Lutherans Anymore....
at our St. Paul Stage.
How long are
the Shows?
Minneapolis Stage shows are about 100 minutes to two hours with one intermission.
Following every show (except the early shows on Saturdays) there is also a
free performance of our world famous improvisation (our unofficial 'third
act') which lasts 20 - 45 minutes.
Six
Ring Circus and "Level 5 shows" generally last 60 - 90 minutes.
Improv-a-Go-Go and Stand-up-a-Go-Go run about 2 hours. Summer Series performances
run 90 minutes. Other special events and rentals vary. For specific information,
please email us.
